I have always tried to stay as close to my heart as possible, and write on topics that matter to me, and to the world around me - without bothering about what sells more. And this book, rather this diary is my tribute to the beautiful feeling of being a parent and being blessed enough to nurture this wonderful relationship between two beautiful souls who have karmas to settle.
We are all life long learners
There is so much for each of us to learn from this relationship, and that is precisely the way we should take it. We are not here to teach or preach too many things to our children but to spend a lot of time with them, get deeper into understanding each other, and create beautiful and rewarding relationships.
What this book is all about
A Father's Diary is a collection of my real-life conversations with my two fairies, and each conversation is worth the time and effort invested in it, at least for me - and I am sure for many parents like me. There are immense lessons to be learnt for our children, and for all of us as parents. Each conversation teaches us, and if we spend time and go deep, elevates us to become better parents and even better humans.
The biggest challenge with parenting
We have very little time to build trust and relationships with our children. By the time teenage arrives - and trust me, it arrives faster than we can plan for - our children are supposed to be treated as our friends - with their independent thinking and decision making overarching our own visualisations about them. With little time in our hands, we need to equip ourselves fully well so that we can make the best use of this time to build strong relationships.
